You may really want to eat something, there's a lot of updates actually. But don't drink to many things, since you might be spitting out your drinks in some parts.

▼ Hello and Welcome Back!

▶ We hope everyone's had fun holidays! Now it's 2013 and it's time to start having things start to really kick into high gear. We're sure your going to be interested in what comes next. But first, THE MOTHER OF ALL UDPATES! There are many changes coming to the city, so let's get started!

▼ Applications & Reserves!

▶ Applications & Reserves are currently open! Tell all your friends eeee!!!!

▼ The EIGHT CHANGES and updates!

▶ OH BOY. I've been working a lot in updating the look of the pages in general (did you notice?) but we also have a lot of new things! We're going to be addressing them one by one.

▼ 1) The City Page has been updated!

▶ Along with a new look, you might notice that each ward now has 4 new sections in regards to buildings. That's because CHARACTER BUILDINGS ARE NOW APPLICABLE! Yes, you can submit one(1) building / area from your character's homeworld per 6 months they are in the game.

It's time to change Hinoto-Ri's appearance and the game itself! You can submit something Right here!

▼ 2) We have a Bestiary!

▶ Not satisfied enough to just be one post, the BESTIARY is its own community. This makes searching with tags much easier! Each game upon acceptance gets its own area, which you can populate with creatures from your homeworld. Even if a character drops, the creatures stay. Now during your night patrols they can show up and you can pick and match to decide what you want your characters fighting!

The best part is that YOU (yes you!) can create them yourselves. You can find out more here...

▼ 3) The Faction Page is updated

▶ And you can submit your own groups in it!

▼ 4) The Persona Update Page is Revamped into a Character Page

▶ OKAY. This is the big one you might hate us for, but we'll be asking you to revamp your Persona update charts. The reason is twofold;

1) We'll be instead asking you to fill out a form that is added when you post a character, including their soul color, bad arcana, profile, image links. Look how snazzy that is:

2) With this, we will be nixing that card we made everyone fill out when joining the game. New players will be asked to do this instead, saving time. And the taken page can link to this instead. It's like we're actually getting really organized OH MAN!!

We do realize this is a bit of work, and we are sorry, but thankfully you can just repost in your character's canon area with the new profile and transfer your personas. Ergo, when you are done reading this, please go to the page and do the update like the example!

▼ 5)...Hey wait what's this "String Colors" the profile asks me for?

▶ When a character arrives in Hinoto-Ri their Destiny String is made up of greenish strands. However, once they reach their first power up (Ie the 4th month there), their strands take on a unique soul color. The color is up to the player, and is posted in the character & persona update page. We call it STRINGS AURA and it will be addressed in the game very soon. We're just telling you what to be expecting soon.

▶ So far, the Aura doesn't seem to do much apart from making it easier to be tracked down for those who have the ability to see the strings.

▶ However as they form really strong CR with another, one or two of their strands might get a coloration from the other person, if that person also has been here for more than 4 months as well. Otherwise it will take on the normal dark green color.

Speaking of expecting things soon...Remember when we told you about cultivating your CR? Well....

▼ 6) Mode Unlocked: DUAL PERSONAS

▶ HOLY SHITBALLS WHAT.

▶ Dual Personas happen when two users share a strong enough bond that their Soul Personas resonate with each other. This usually happens when characters have known each other for a time and have been able to interact with each other. Sometimes it happens when one tries to protect the other, sometimes it's a join wish so strong it breaks boundaries, but regardless of why, the result is the same; a Persona born from the Fusion of both Souls Resonating during that battle as one.

▶ When can we expect this?! The first Dual Personas will happen in the GRAND PRIX TOURNAMENT. Don't worry if your character is not joining, once the tournament is over, there will be plenty of opportunities to use and awaken them.

▶ During the first usage, both Persona will fuse together to form the new Persona, no matter what attack had been planned. Subsequent usages work as such:

▶ The Dual Persona can only be used in battles / stressful situation (ie you can't just bring them out to do work like your other personas)
▶ BOTH characters must be present for the Dual Persona to be used
▶ The Fused persona can be used by either character while the other can use a Velvet/Aramid Room Persona, or they can both use the Fused Persona and attack twice with it.
▶ During the time the Persona is used, characters are able to speak to each other by telepathy, as long as the Persona is present. (We're sure the telepathy part is going to be addressed in a calm manner by most participants, right? Right.)

▶ Using the Dual Persona does not count as usage for other Personas, so obviously you'll still need to work with your other personas as well!

▶ Dual Personas use the minor instead of the major arcana, from Ace to Tens in all four suits.

▶ Skillsets used by the Fused Persona is based on the user with the highest level out of the two, so yes, someone who is level 1 but has strong CR with someone who is a level 3 user, would be able to use a level 3 persona in this case. That means you won't be limited to your level as long as you have your friend around.

▶ Minimum amount of game time before a Dual Persona can be created between two users is a MONTH, UNLESS they have per-established CR beforehand (ie they know each other from their universe, siblings, etc).

▶ However, Cross Canon Dual Personas come with an extra skill. This is to represent the newly bond forged that transcends distant multiverses.

▶ Obviously both player need to be okay with it and THERE SHOULD BE SOME CR TO SHOW FOR IT. We are not going to hound you to give us x amount of logs, but we do want the fact two characters have a dual persona to make sense.

▶ Do you want to know why we gave you bad Arcana? Well one of these reasons was this: if one character shares a Bad Arcana with the other character, they will be unable to use their partner's new spell. If both characters share a Bad Arcana with each other, they will BOTH be unable to each their partner's new spell. They will still be able to use their own new spell and the two previous skills, however.

▶ Each user keeps their own main Soul Personas Weaknesses & Strengths during the time of usage, even if one of them is using a Velvet/Aramid room persona.

▶ They appear with all skills unlocked, and it was a game, both users would share mana usage and the pain felt from attacking.

NOW THE BEST PART:

▶ There can be as many Dual Personas created per user as the many bonds as a user can form. If CR is broken / a character leaves, the Dual Persona becomes inactive.

Told you, it was big news. FRIENDSHIP ISN'T JUST MAGIC IT'S PERSONA POWER. And because I love you all, I made a DUAL PERSONA GENERATOR for all of you to use.

So start talking with your CR and thinking what you will be doing for this in the upcoming times! Even if your characters aren't in the Grand Prix, you can submit dual personas for approval RIGHT HERE!. Make sure both players are alright with it, of course!

▶ And if you don't have CR or are a darker/evil character, don't worry, we've ALSO got something planned for you involving the Aramid Room. So don't worry, the nice guys won't be the only one getting toys soon...

▶ PHEW! As you can see, 2013 has a SLEW of new things, hew areas, new monsters AND new Personas in your future.

...and that's only the beginning....

...let's just say that the tournament is going to be interesting, but it's what will come next and what will happen during the last week that will, perhaps change everything....

▶ The January Edition is out and you can find it [RIGHT HERE]. Year 10AC is starting in Hinoto-Ri, and it's going to be with a bang. Along with the usual moon phases, there's a fiery tournament and weird language descriptions. WHAT COULD IT ALL MEAN?!?!

▼ PERSONA GRAND PRIX!!

▶ Aww yes, this is the big event for January. I will be posting a signup tomorrow night. Unlike the previous tournament, THE STAKES ARE VERY HIGH and who knows what might happen.

We are warning you that your character may end up being severely harmed. If you have them sign up, please understand that they may end up in the hospital for a few days to even a week. Thankfully the team at Caduceus Hospital work well.

On the other side there will more than just 1vs1. Team battles! Weapon fights! Dual Persona awakenings! Espionage, mystery...maybe you will see the Anoli make a formal appearance?!

Who knows at this point...more information about the Grand Prix will be posted tomorrow night, along with the sign-up sheet.

▶ Will be posted up tonight! As a note, the buildings that are approved so far (we will try to do as many before tonight) will be making their first appearance during this log, and they will get their own threads for characters to discover them.

The same will be happening with the monsters.

It's going to be plenty fun.

▶ Is still currently inactive. Well, there are monsters around the hill city, but the main temple is quiet and boring as always. Don't worry, in the upcoming months, the Mictlan will be getting some action (finally!)

If I can be a little serious for a minute...

It's hard to think that Destiny Strings only started out on the 1st of September 2012. It feels far longer. Really, the game has been incredible so far and everyone is fun. I am glad to be your head mod, and I hope you've been enjoying the game as much as we've been making and creating this place for you. Trust me when I say that you haven't seen anything yet and there's plots, twists, turns, new things still left to uncover for many years to come. 2013 is just starting, but I want Strings to continue to grow and become an amazing game.

I always wanted Destiny Strings to evolve with the playerbase, and be a game that is affected by how the characters are and react. To me modding is not only a hobby, but fun. It might be hard sometimes, true, but ultimately, knowing you guys enjoy yourself makes it all worth it. But truly, even the best mods aren't nothing without their players. Worlds cannot breathe if there's no one in them. Now that Hinoto-Ri's very appearance is being changed thanks to your characters, I hope you realize that your actions will affect the games in ways you might have never realized...

I'm so excited for the future. The next four months are going to be INCREDIBLE. I hope you will be enjoying the trip with us.

Are we gonna hear about the characters leveling up soon?

Yeah, I have a quick question.

I'm working up a boss monster and I was wondering, do we have to use persona canon skills for the skills or can we use what the creatures have in canon and modify them to fit persona damage/description types?
