DESTINY STRIIIINGS UUUUUPDATES!!

...okay, okay let's be serious a little.

First of all?

Thank you. Thank you all for joining this game and being here. We're super happy to have everyone and while we're still trying to adjust to find the right balance, we hope that everyone's been having fun! It's been one hell of a first week, and we promise not everything is this action packed. We just wanted to start with a bang.

Maybe a little too literally.

That being said, we have a lot of announcements to make since this is our first big mod post:

SLOWDOWN

We apologize if they've been a bit slow the last few days, the mods all had a series of accidents that cause us to go slower than the pace for judging apps and replying to tags like we wanted. We had a PLAN! A PLAN!

Applications should be (hopefully) all done by tomorrow.

TEAMS, POSTING LOG SPEED AND TIME ZONES.

The Teams will be postponed for a little while longer. We enjoyed the whole format asking people their tagging speed and we think we may stick with this format later on for the larger logs so that everyone feels comfortable. Next time, expect us to ask for Time Zones too and hopefully group you with people around the same time as you for even easier planning!

ADDITIONAL GAME INFO

A few posts will go up today and tomorrow dealing with city life, persona power ups, city maps and charts.

PERSONA CREATION: WE LOVE IT

Which means, yes, there will be a persona submitting form where you can submit non-IC Personas. Unlike the IC ones which can only be done in the velvet room and be from the world where your character is from, these can be anything you want for the most part. Well, as you might have seen, we have everything from The Bolder to Squirtles and Falcor the Luck Dragon.

The Persona submission page will simply be a place where you can post them and the mods can look over and accept and double check if there are any mistakes. If they are approved, can can post them in the Persona list and later on your characters will be able to grab them from the Velvet & Aramid Rooms!

VELVET ROOM VISITS

Velvet & Aramid Room IC visits will now be on the 15th and 16th.

CALENDAR

We have an in-game calendar! You can find it here or the miniature version on the destiny strings log page. If you click on it, it will load up the full calendar.

CITY MAP

We also now have a city map! HERE IT IS it will be posted in the city area. We also have a UPPER GROUND SUBWAY MAP since currently there are too many demons to go underground.

WORK FOR YOUR MONEY

You can go out and get jobs! Your status as an extraterritorial visitor is actually a boon in this; people are a lot more eager to hire you due to the popularity it might bring to their establishment.

...Yeap, you are being used, but at least you get some sweet money out of it? Just do your job well and there should be no problems...

Once you have an idea what you want your character to do, you can submit it in the job post!

IC UPDATES

Every Sunday there will be a 'state of the IC city on the Comm system. Sometimes a few missions can get posted, to which players can reply. It's also a good way for character to catch up on the news and have something to talk about. There will be some love advice columns and players will be allowed to submit their own columns as well.

PLAYER PLOT AND MISSIONS GO!

There will be a form for you to submit missions, or do plots. My god, we love player plots and there's so much potential in the city for you to do stuff, we'd be happy to hand over the keys for you. So stay tuned for that!

APPLICATIONS AND RESERVES

Applications are being moved at the end of each month to coincide with ATP as much as possible. Reserves will open 4 days before the apps and will close two days before the apps are closed to allow anyone who wished to apply for a character that was reserved to do so.

We decided to do it during ATP so you can grab castmates and entice people into the game.

IT'S AN OPEN CITY NOW GO EXPLORE IT.

YOU ARE NOW ALLOWED TO DO OPEN LOGS! Go forth and do whatever you want in the city. DON'T FORGET TO USE YOUR CHARACTER TAG I am putting them in the tag cloud as you read this. Right now. Like right. Now. Yeap....

FINAL MISSION & PERSONA UNLOCKED

There will be one last mission log for anyone who has joined in the last few days so they can have their cake and eat it too, but otherwise, consider the day one in various states of uncomfortableness!

Everyone's Persona is unlocked with their first skills.

APARTMENT OPEN LOG?

Would you be interesting in apartment logs in the middle of this week? It could be a great way to make additional CR, but we don't want to flood you with too many things. There's still a lot to come, after all...speaking of which...

LIBRA UNLEASHED

The event on the 24th will have information coming in soon. As you may have guessed, it involves the Astrology Signs and Rampaging Monsters. These will be a reoccurring Boss Fight every two months (spaced out so that there isn't too much and we also have the Persona Duel tournaments) for a full two years...but then when that's done....who knows what will happen?

PLAYER'S CHECK!

This won't happen until next month, but we do not have a time table apart from "posts done at the end of the player's check until the end of the other one." (So basically, any time you post can count towards your Player's Check).

We're not perfect and we're still trying to find the right medium in everything here. And we might not have answered a question you have! So feel free to post in this asking us anything and we'll do our best to answer it.

I'm super excited for the game and everything that's been going on is amazing. I've been having a ton of fun playing with everyone and stalking everyone's threads and I love all the work you've put into the logs and NPCS!

My question/comment though is in relation to how the Wild Card works because I'm still really confused about what is happening there. Has she lost all her Social Links, and can she get them back? Can she fuse multiple Personas in the Velvet Room when it shows up? Will she ever be able to get back to her normal power level? It still seems kind of weird to me that Philemon would bring all these veteran Persona users to help him out and then cut their stats! But maybe you have something planned for that.

I like the idea of apartment logs, but maybe make them every two weeks instead? That's enough time to keep them fresh in the mind and not too far back for people to be wary of backtagging.

I really love the tagging speed thing you did, too - different people can manage different speeds at different times, and having the players consider what they'll be available for helps, I think.

Oh oh actually I meant there would be ONE apartment log, (at least for this month) not one every two weeks.

Yes it's one of those "WHY DID WE NOT THINK OF THIS BEFORE" ideas that I am really glad we did.

A random question: I've been thinking of having Misery dabble in a sort of alchemy that would sort of resemble Strange Journey's item-making system. Is that at all doable, and where would I go about proposing that sort of thing? Just curious.

It would be doable! Just as long as it's within reasonable amounts and also she charges way too much for it because she's Misery.

As for the question about the apartment log, I'm all for it! I think it ought to be alright flooding-wise since it's not plot-related, and it's just a place for people to collect their moving in threads, right?

Exactly! There's no speed to the apartment log it can be backdated to as long as ever.

I really thought the tagging speed form was genius. Not going to lie.

I also think a apartment log would be cool. A good opportunity to get CR now everyone's been established, and it would also give the later newcomers a mass log to jump into, since the initial three logs are only going to go down in traffic.

also are we totally allowed to keep the suits gained in the mission log?

I think it would be helpful to have some kind of housing post because fuck if I can remember where my characters live.

Once we do the apartment logs, we'll try to throw up a housing post! That way we'll already have the organization part done
