Geartopia: 4th Wall and Event Information

▼ What is Geartopia?

 

Geartopia is, to put it in plain terms, a cowboy-steampunk themed world. It was built a long time ago by aliens visiting the planet that granted intelligence to some native species. You can find a few remnants of their culture scattered around the land in the form of large stone carvings. The carvings also serve as guardians - once a character enters the planet, they are only allowed to visit the main town and surrounding area before they find themselves stopped by an invisible force field (there are other smaller towns, but they are far and few in between).

Technology is steampunk with a cowboy flare: there are trains, horses, chariots, lots of gears and dark clothing. The inhabitants are mostly humans, humanoid animals, alien natives and steampunk robots. The technology the elder aliens left them allows for contact with passing spaceships, but otherwise there is nothing futuristic going on on the planet - the aliens wanted it this way and for the most part, the population respects this.

Geartopia was visited by other Visitors before, including the crew of Transmigration 9, who helped solve a few mysteries twenty years ago. Now a new mayoress rules the city and new problems have arisen, with pirates posed to attack the place!

However you wouldn't know that.

There's just this fancy little thing that everyone probably forgot acting up again. The thing is, this world also has something similar, and just like you should never cross the streams, you should never cross the interdimentional space portals.

The result is a tear in the space-time continuum and a whole lot of people suddenly stuck in Geartopia that were not supposed to be there.

Oops. That might take a small while to fix.

While the city enjoys a sudden increase in population for a few weeks, Geartopia is open for you to look around and discover. Farm, play card games, get into gun duels - the choice is up to you. If anything, it might be a nice little break from the other city.

OOC wise, this also means it will serve as our 4th wall event! Invite your friends to our inter-dimensional party. Post characters you don't feel like apping either! THIS 4TH WALL EVENT WILL BE IC AND STILL COUNT! Any and all characters and their AUs and their clones are welcome (400 Akihikos), and once October rolls around, more rules will be posted. Really the only thing we don't want is Real Life celebrities and web personalities.

▼How long?

 

The Geartopia 4th wall event will run from the 4th to the 20th, sprinkled with a few open logs to keep things interesting before the grand finale.

The event is not mandatory; your character can stay in Hinoto-Ri, if you wish.

Characters will return home with souvenirs and perhaps memories of friends they hadn't seen in a while. If players app characters that were present in the 4th wall, they'll be coming to Hinoto-Ri with them too, and can earn their Personas later by playing the Persona game.

Hiatus what hiatus

I'm really bad at hiatuses can you tell

But anyway, the only person I'm planning to toss in thus far is Yaiba Mizushiro here from Spiral. Yeah, that's right, this guy ain't Hizumi. This would be Hizumi's older brother who just so happens to look absurdly like him for reasons that definitely aren't important in the slightest.

They're very similar personality-wise, so mixups and confusion stemming from this are more than welcome since Hizumi's also going to be sent along, although the two will never actually meet during this time.

Otherwise I have a somewhat outdated muselist full of folks I'd be happy to toss in should anyone like to see them! Folks who I have floating around but haven't listed are: Kino from Kino's Journey, Shirotsuki from Hibiki's Magic, Rio Takeuchi from Spiral: The Bonds of Reasoning, and Yusuke Sagami from Animal Academy. So more obscures, wheeee

But yeah, Y here (who is a monster/human hybrid like Sam) will be going around, being his smooth, charming self while destroying others in his spare time. FUN. Also, he can't go into the sun because it makes his monster side angry and so therefore he carries an umbrella wherever he goes. He and Sam will actually never run into each other, which will only cause Sam to flip out when he realizes HE MISSED HIS CHANCE TO KILL HIM ONCE AND FOR ALL darn it 4th wall!!!!

I also have some of these people on my muselist if anyone wants them! (I might throw in Cecil from WTNV, I'M STILL THINKING ABOUT IT).
