Player Plot!

Good morning Destiny Strings! Walker here with an exciting, mod-approved Player Plot! Details, as ever, are under the cut!

Time Of Truthiness
Starting August 25th and lasting until August 31st, all of Hinoto-Ri will be laboring under a strange and bizarre affliction - ABSOLUTE TRUTHINESS. Yes, that's right, it's an enforced honesty event! Tell your friends what you really think of them! Desperately hope nobody asks you about those hideously embarrassing things you did! The cause of all this is a demon, of course. At the end of the event there will even be a nice big fight to work out all your aggression!

What does it mean for my character?
Whatever you want it to mean! The entire event will be self-contained in two logs - the first log will cover the entire week, and the second log will be for the fight. If you don't want to participate in the event, just ignore the logs!

Heya! Just some nitpicky questions to clarify the effects of the truthfulness!

Is it a compulsion wherein if someone asks you a question you have to respond and with the truth like in Liar, Liar? Or is it something like the words you actually want to say are replaced with the truth? Do half-truths or literal truths count? (ex: 'there was a mechanical defect' - I count being able to be picked by a rogue a major defect). Are you compelled to explain truths that aren't self-evident? Can you cover your mouth and run away? Can you plug up your ears and not hear anything and escape that way?

Or is all of this up to us?

Okay, basically: You have to tell the truth, but in no case will you be compelled to speak. So, no, it's not like 'Liar, Liar', and you aren't compelled to explain truths that aren't self-evident. Other than that, it's fine to do what you like!

Basically I figured that the whole truth thing was already taking enough agency away from the characters so there's no mental compulsion to tell the truth, just an inability to lie.

Ahahahaha so. Hizumi normally never gets into details about his own life with pretty good reason, and some of that will probably start slipping out, much to his horror. The fact that this will also line up with a medical checkup that reveals some unnerving results from his testing will not help matters. If anyone wants to catch him before he locks himself up in his apartment (or pester him while he's locked himself up in his apartment), I am completely and totally open for this!

It's also worth noting that interactions with him once he's at his apartment again could get potentially triggering, but anything before that will be fine.

Seriously. Please. Make him talk about stuff. It'll be fun.

Aoi on the other hand tends to be much more honest to begin with, so threads with her are much more likely to be heartwarming or hilarious, either of which I am also open to! Tell her how annoying it is for her to rush into battle! Or how she needs to stop trying to save everyone!! Or whatever man I'm cool with it!!!

Hinata is dead, and therefore has a story to tell about the events leading up to his death. In the past, he's been known to be very flighty or vague when talking about it, and even when he does open up, he only tells part of the story.

That being said, his past involves some triggery subject material, which you can read more about and/or opt-out of here.

But I'm open to all kinds of plotting! It doesn't have to be all doom and gloom, have a girl ask him if he finds her attractive, ask him for his dead serious opinions on certain video games, anything you can think of! The more ridiculous and embarrassing, the better. I'm also completely willing to throw him at other people if you'd like him to be the one doing the asking.

Yuri is also a zombie dead person, so if anybody asks questions about her death or events leading up to her death, Yuri will probably keep her mouth shut unless you're a close friend or part of the SSS. If she does end up talking about her death, though, there might be some triggers about that as well as the things that occurred to her after she died.

Also making her blush and tsun is an option, so there's... that...

Otoha doesn't care who knows. He doesn't see much reason to hide it.

... Then again Yakuza operate fairly openly so being secretive about it doesn't even come up for him.

Nik really likes his normal job and as-close-as-he'll-ever-get-to-a-normal-life life here in Hinoto-Ri, and he never liked being a hitman or working for the mob. He won't like his secrets being out. :C I, on the other hand, am thrilled for this event because this is the only way he'd ever talk about it, hahaha.

Ahaha. Yeah Otoha doesn't care at all. He didn't enjoy it but he grew up in it so that was normal for him. \O.o/

Otoha doesn't normally lie, he just doesn't talk about himself. So of course this means please bother him about his life. There's talk of murder and incest (the incest is not something he did but still) so it might get a little triggering.

Naoya will be attempting to use this to gather information while revealing as little as possible about himself. So try to trap him if you want info.

Tsukasa and Ushiro both hide things about their feelings and a bit about their pasts and both are triggery for reasons of violence and abuse.

Taro has a bit of a triggery past but doesn't lie about stuff. He's also dead.

Atsuro doesn't really have much to hide nowadays; he will freely talk about the Lockdown and his experiences with demons in the past. Pretty much the only thing is perhaps his hidden feelings for Yuzu and his poor relationship with his parents.

Phantom Girl also is fairly open about her life, though she tries not to mention the fact that her mother is the President of the United Planets, which effectively makes her First Daughter of the whole civilized universe. She is also attracted to the 'bad boys with a heart of gold' type, but that's not terribly important.

Lucas is keeping quiet about everything, including the fact that his mother was killed, his twin brother was killed, pseudo-resurrected, brainwashed, roboticized, and killed again, his whole world was overrun by monsters and robotic chimeras brought in by some dimension hopping jerk named Porky, and he just had to destroy his world to save it. It's kind of a long story. He probably won't really want to talk about it much.

Feel free to pester anyone and get some information out of them!

Okay so: Kotoha, aside from her fantastic adventures, is actually a relatively normal 15-year-old. Nothing particularly terrible will be coming out of her mouth during the event, mostly just...you know, the kind of embarrassing things you'd expect from a hormonal teenager.

Desco, though...if you succeed in pinning her down, there are some trigger warnings - mostly to do with violent death. Like, super violent.

Maugris has been actively hiding that he's a vampire from most people, and been softening his impression of how much his life sucked. He has plenty of stories to tell about just how much he hated being Prince and how screwed up his city really was. May or may not include trigger warnings, mostly for violence, though if you have issues with existential helplessness, that might be in there too, mostly courtesy of his inflated sense of personal responsibility.

Erk doesn't have much in the way of secrets, but he does have embarrassing stories about his own past and he hasn't actually been volunteering much of his history.

Head's up, I'm leaving on a trip on the 29th so don't mind horribly late back tags after I get back on September 11th.

Miyako is generally don't lie when she doesn't have to, and usually work under "don't ask, don't answer". So with the right questions, it's possible to get her to admit her Hotsuin life and duty and all things hideous.
