Concert Planning

Okay!

So there seems to be pretty good interest, IC and OOC, in the idea of all the various musically-inclined people getting together for a concert, organized (at least in the sense of getting everyone in one place) by your local Rise "Risette" Kujikawa.

There's several IC motivations behind this, the big ones being as a benefit concert for victims of the Anoli attack on behalf of the Visitors (if we can swing that with the city government; is there a problem with that, mods?) and a more unspoken one to remind all the Visitors that not every day here sucks as much as the last month and a half or so.

The way it's going to work is like this:

-An open log (by yours truly) on Monday the 11th covering the organizational stuff and practice that's taking place over the course of the next week (some of it probably backdated a few days for realism.
-An open log (by yours truly) for the concert itself on Friday the 15th, which will include threads for backstage antics, the performances themselves (and audience reactions), and general partying.

ICly, the location is...still TBD, since it doesn't look like the 0048 stage was approved for this month, and I used to mod so I know better than to let people get bored with an idea before executing it. I am in the process of working this out, and will keep everyone involved updated.

What I would like right now:

Anyone with a character who would like to perform, or who has any kind of musical talent and Rise could feasibly try to browbeat into performing, please tag here and let me know the character's name and what they're likely to put on! That should be all we need to get started other than my aforementioned mod hassling.

Also feel free to bother me with any questions or concerns in this post!

Just FYI - 0048 stage did get approved, but it won't be ICly in town till the night of the 14th and won't have electricity hookups and stuff immediately. It might still work if someone happens to have a massive generator/be good enough to temporarily hook it into the grid till the city comes along?

As mentioned IC when I put the post up, the plan will be for in front of Junes (hey, a mod suggested it) but since that's going to work a lot less well than a real theater for a lot of acts we can move it to the 0048 Stage last minute. And maybe delay until Saturday whoops.

Character Name: Cloche Leythal Pastalia
Performance: Cloche will be performing the Infelious Rhaplanca, a song in two parts: Heavenly Prayers ~Rhaplanca~ and Earthly Atonement ~Maoh~. It tells the final part of the Tale of Rhaplanca and the story of the birth of the original land of Metafalss. You can read a translation of the song here, along with the myth behind the story and what it all represents for the people of Metafalss.

Cloche will be using her Song Magic to create a largely abstract visual representation of this myth behind and around her to help tell the story. She'd also probably put together some kind of handout that will include the full story and a complete translation of the Hymmnos sections in case the nanomachines take one look at it and burst into tears. (On the plus side, once the system has this as a reference, I doubt there will be any more translation hiccups after the concert...) I will make sure to put both of these together to use as a reference for the concert!

Character: Nagisa Motomiya

Performance: Back home, Nagisa's an understudy member of the idol group AKB0048. They're the descendants, so to speak, of the current idol group AKB48, so all of 0048's songs are from the real group's library.

That said, she'll be singing Nagisa no Cherry (translated as 'Seaside Cherry') - it's one she got picked to sing solo at the understudies' first concert in canon, so it's kind of special to her. Here is the anime version, here is the full (real life) version, and these are translated lyrics.

She could also be convinced to sing or even teach someone else a couple of other songs from the library - I'm personally thinking of Shonichi (link is AKB0048 version, real group version is here, translated lyrics here) and Oogoe Diamond (again, link is anime; this is a subtitled video of the real group).

Performance: He'll be singing Dawn Awakens from the end of Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. Yes there is a male part in there Ashunera just keeps singing over him. I might consider having him get someone to sing the female part, but I'm not sure right now.

Nik here is a pretty solid guitar player, specializing in blues. o/ He'd be glad to help, though he's not used to performing to large crowds. That'll be interesting.
