▼ WHAT ARE ULTIMATE PERSONAS?

Ultimate Personas are an evolution of a character's Soul Persona, awakened when they take up a new resolution in their heart, face a major personal issue, or rise above their weaknesses and shortcomings. This is generally the culmination of many months of character development gained by forming Social Links with other characters in the game, and growing and changing in the process. Although it's a very different process for each individual character, this journey of self-discovery awakens the sleeping power in the Soul Persona, causing it to change into its Ultimate form.

▼ HOW DO I GET ONE?
As noted above, awakening an the Ultimate Persona requires the character to have gone through some large personal change or revelation. As such, the character must already have achieved MAX level before applying to receive their Ultimate Persona. For most characters, this means they have been in the game for 9 months from their IC intro, and 6 months for characters who already had a Persona before coming to Hinoto-Ri.
Requesting an Ultimate Persona upgrade will require that the player is able to provide sufficient character development detail on how their character has grown / changed / learned since coming to the city. Note that this can take very different forms for different characters, and not all characters will change in a positive way - resolving to destroy the world by giving in fully to one's hatred is just as monumental a change in outlook as accepting one's own true nature and deciding to help humanity, for example. All it means is a different god will take notice when the character is granted the Ultimate Persona.

A mod-run scene or thread is not necessary for the Ultimate Persona to awaken IC, so we encourage you to roleplay it out in whatever way you feel is appropriate! It may not even happen right away, as it can take some time for a suitably dramatic event to trigger it. This is a major milestone in your character's development, so get creative and use your imagination! The only thing you have to remember is that you cannot evolve to ultimate unless you have been approved.

Justification: Considering the arc her character development takes in Devil Survivor 2, it could almost be said that Fumi's personality has undergone a regression during her time in Hinoto-Ri. She's gone from the paragon of Yamato's meritocracy ideals to a somewhat bristly scientist who's willing to work with others and entertain their ideas when the situation calls for it. When Fumi first arrived, she was concerned almost completely with research, only bothering to talk to people if it had something to do with her academic interest in Personas or demons. Almost all of her conversations during her first few months were keyed toward this, such as introducing herself to a doctor for the sole purpose of getting access to medical equipment for her lab at JP's. Talking to normal people was a source of irritation for her, and it took a while for her to even begin warming up just slightly. Even in fights with others, she largely preferred to stay on the sidelines and analyze, figuring if other people weren't strong enough to defend themselves, that would sort itself out.
Things began to turn around for Fumi during the memory swap event, in which she learned that some peoples' circumstances are indeed bad enough that there's no overcoming them completely. The experience with Senri was her first taste of this, and the beginning of sentiment and sympathy creeping into her life in the city. She steadily became more sympathetic in her own somewhat detached way, beginning to have more personal conversations with people. In her professional life as well, she started to trust others to help with problems she would usually be tackling herself. When the Wise Men disappeared from the city, she even reached out to the city as a whole to interview for candidates to help her keep the MAGI facility running, something she never would have considered before. Through further interactions with Kotoha, she has also learned the simple joy of caring for a pet, and during the Shadow event, although the thread didn't finish, she was forced to confront the fact that she does think of her associates and colleagues as friends and really does need them, even though she still holds some of her old ideals.
