So! I'm playing a character who is mostly an amnesiac. He remembers everything from after he died up until his canon point, but not his past. What I've been doing is having him think that certain things feel "familiar" or having small flashes: so more of a natural, slow regaining of memory than we see him get in canon.
If someone swapped with him, would the other person slowly regain his memories the same way he has been? Or could the person who gains his regain them more quickly? The memory of his past is there, I think, it's just that he can't access it the way normal, non-amnesiacs do.
(For mod reference, in canon... all that happens to sort of "pull" his memories out of him is someone sits down and hypnotizes him, forcing him to remember. It's pretty deus ex machina, weh.)
